  23. When a \fBvi\fR or \fBex\fR editing session is interrupted by a
  24. crash of the program or the system, \fBexpreserve\fR is invoked
  25. to save the edits that were in progress, so that they can be
  26. recovered by invoking \fBvi \-r\fR or \fBex \-r\fR later on.
  27. If \fBexpreserve\fR is invoked with no arguments, then it
  28. preserves the information that it reads from standard input.
  29. If any \fIarg\fR is specified, it preserves all of the edits recorded
  30. in files in \fB/tmp\fR.  For more information than this, read the
  31. \fBexpreserve\fR and/or \fBex\fR code.
